Could you be the Industry Development & Stakeholder Engagement Director based in Melbourne we’re looking for?

About the role:

 

Alstom presents a unique opportunity for a driven individual to spearhead the development and execution of our Industry Development and Local Content strategy, encompassing activities both within Victoria and interstate. Reporting to the Strategy & Innovation Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the realisation of Next Generation Trams commitments to the Victorian Transport Industry Development (VTIDD), as well as the fulfillment of X'Trapolis 2.0 and VLocity Industry Development and Local Content commitments. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders and foster relationships with government entities to bolster support for our projects.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Developing and proposing strategies to enhance local participation, export, innovation, and workforce development within project framework
  • Leading industry development plans in collaboration with government and industry partners, ensuring compliance with policies such as Victorian Local Jobs First
  • Mapping industry and supply chains to identify gaps and opportunities, working closely with Alstom's ANZ procurement team
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships to support project objectives on local content
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges and ensure compliance with contractual stakeholder engagement obligations
  • Implementing the Local First Strategy and achieve objectives in key focus areas
  • Leading Alstom's Industry Development and Local Content activities supporting project design, manufacturing, and completion, as well as potential new projects in Victoria
  • Collaborating with government and industry partners on supply chain strengthening and workforce development
  • Leading initiatives for industry development, including job creation, workforce development, and innovation
  • Aggregating data related to Alstom Local Jobs First and Social Procurement commitments for reporting
  • Managing the Alstom Mobility Supply Chain Centre of Excellence (MSCCoE) and oversee innovation development activities
  • Collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to realize industry initiatives and targets
  • Supporting the tender team in maximizing local industry participation and oversee the delivery of supplier innovation programs through the MSCCoE

All about you:

 

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Possess established industry relationships with stakeholders, government, and partners
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and management abilities
  • Exhibit strong commercial, negotiation, and financial skills, with a capability to mitigate risks
  • Have a track record of successful project management
  • Preferably have prior experience in a similar role within the rail, infrastructure, or transport industry
  • Display outstanding communication and presentation skills
